Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be an instrumental member of the Corporate Accounting department.  Primarily responsible for working as part of the team to complete the monthly closing process and daily processing duties.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for tackling challenges, finding solutions to difficult problems and is a highly detailed self-starter.
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the revenue recognition, reconciliation, and recording processes
  • Perform general ledger review and exception research with reconciliations
  • Assist in the monthly close of the Corporate general
  • Participate in payroll cycle including detail review of payroll exceptions and data entry, coordinating with HR
  • Planning and processing of weekly accounts payable and receivables
  • Assist in the reporting of financial results to various internal and external parties including participation in annual audits
  • Participate in preparing financial reports based on data analytics, historical trends or projections
  • Provide support to stakeholders in understanding financial results
  • Assist with developing and maintaining internal accounting controls and policies
  • Enforce proper accounting policies and processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Support all aspects of accounting management (billing, reporting, tax forms)
  • Utilize the accounting systems to facilitate processes and maintain records
  • Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
  • Make recommendations for streamlining accounting procedures and assist Sr Accountant in implementation of new workflows

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar experience.  CPA or MBA a plus.
  • 1-4 years of experience with exposure to month end close processes
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite, advanced proficiency in Excel highly encouraged
  • Ability to extrapolate, manipulate and analyze data
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
  • Ability to bring new ideas and concepts to the accounting/finance department
  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits:
The approximate annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. Please note the range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of the posting. Actual compensation within that range is based on a wide variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, individual qualifications, depth of experience, knowledge, skills, applicable certifications, and physical work location(s).
